The humble occasion was held in the DC Super Heroes Cafe at the SM Megamall last January 12. It was attended by various brand representatives, Village Pipol team members and the current roaster of team GIZGUIDEPH.

It was a fun and eventful night where the team members of GIZGUIDEPH acknowledged the successful and noteworthy achievements of each smartphone that was released in 2018.

Looking at the list of winners, it can be seen that there is huge spread in diversity of winners.

In our official tally, Samsung won 1 award, Cloudfone won a total of 2 awards, Cherry Mobile got 3, Xiaomi took home 4, Honor with 1, OnePlus won 1, Vivo won 2, OPPO has 3, ASUS has 2 and Realme got 1.

The winner of the best smartphone award for 2018 was the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Huawei took home 4 awards including best flagship, best camera smartphone and best long battery life.

GIZGUIDE saw a lot of brands take innovative steps to deliver game-changing products in 2018. We saw the notch gets smaller until we eventually saw smartphones completely eliminating it.
