One of the issues the POCOPHONE F1 faced is the absence of Widevine L1 support. Now, the device is getting it through an update.

POCOPHONE F1 now gets Widevine L1 support

Widevine L1 allows devices to stream HD content from Netflix and Amazon

Widevine L1 is a pretty significant feature for a smartphone to have. This feature allows users to stream HD content from Netflix and Amazon Prime. Without this, you are stuck with SD content which is 480p. When people pointed it out, POCOPHONE, Xiaomi's sub-brand,  immediately said that they would look into the issue. Now, they worked with Google and Qualcomm to include Widevine L1 support in an update.

The beta update in question is v9.2.25 and it started rolling out on February 25. However, Netflix's HD streaming still does not work after the update even after this Widevine L1 update. The reason behind this is that some companies are not willing to give certification to devices that are already released according to POCOPHONE. Amazon Prime Videos, on the other hand, now allow HD streaming,

This update is still in beta stage so roll out might be slower than usual. So do not be alarmed if you haven't received it yet. It might take some time for the update to reach every user.
