Qualcomm announces 10nm Snapdragon 712, the Snapdragon 710 upgrade

Qualcomm just announced Snapdragon 712, a mid-range chip built under the 10nm process. It is also the upgrade of the capable Snapdragon 710.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC is designed to bring premium features to more devices, more affordable devices. It uses a Kyro 360 CPU, Adreno 616 GPU, Hexagon 685 DSP, and multi-core AI Engine.

Up to 10 percent increase in performance over Snapdragon 710

Qualcomm promises up to 10 percent increase in performance over Snapdragon 710. It also has Qualcomm Aqstic audio technology which should deliver good audio quality.

Snapdragon 712 is also packed with Snapdragon X15 LTE Modem to let you enjoy speedy mobile connectivity. It comes with 4G LTE with 4x4 MIMO and License-Assisted Access (LAA).

It also has the Spectra 250 ISP with 10-bit colors which will allow you to take vibrant photos and 4K videos. It even has multi-frame noise reduction that lets users take multiple photos simultaneously and then stitches them together to create a high quality shot.

Lastly, it 712 has support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology which can charge your battery from 0 to 50 percent in just 15 minutes.

The new Snapdragon 712 is expected to be available on upcoming smartphones mid this year.
