Qualcomm launches Snapdragon 710 10 nm SoC

Qualcomm has finally made the Snapdragon 710 chipset official. It's the newest upper mid-range SoC of the company and the upgrade of the ageing Snapdragon 660.

The Snapdragon 710 features a 10 nm architecture with Kryo 360 cores. It also has an improved and efficient multi-core AI Engine and neural network processing capabilities.

According to Qualcomm, the AI Engine of the Snapdragon 710 has up to 2x overall performance improvements in AI applications versus the Snapdragon 660.

It utilizes AI capabilities to capture and share contextually-aware photos and videos and personalize voice and speech patterns for more natural interactions.

It also has the new Qualcomm Spectra 250 ISP for enhancements in picture quality, real-time bokeh, and zoom. It supports up to 32MP single sensor and 20MP dual sensor. It also has support for face unlock.

The Snapdragon 710 also has 4K HDR playback which is a first on a sub SD800-tier, X15 LTE modem, 4G LTE technologies, 70 percent download speeds in weak singla conditions, Bluetooth 5.0, and Qualcomm TrueWireless Stereo Plus audio.

Qualcomm also boasts that the Snapdragon 710 has superior power efficiency for extra long battery life. It also has Quick Charge 4+ technology where users can get up to 50 percent battery charge in just 15 minutes.

The Snapdragon 710 is expected to be found in consumer devices in the second quarter of 2018.
