#ICYMI: Google to combine ChromeOS and Android
ChromeOS + Android

Possible enhancements to be added

A Google executive has revealed that the company plans to merge ChromeOS and Android.

Sameer Samat, president of the Android ecosystem at Google, told TechRadar that the tech firm is "going to be combining ChromeOS and Android into a single platform."

Prior to this, Android Authority has reported about Google "migrating ChromeOS over to Android," with the aim of competing with the iPad.

ChromeOS is an operating system primarily designed to work with web applications and cloud services. It's the operating system found on devices known as "Chromebooks."

Meanwhile, Android is primarily designed for touchscreen mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. Its application also extends to smart TVs, smartwatches, even cars, and some VR headsets.

Samat said the goal of the merger is to make something "modern and delightful" while being "approachable and familiar," and avoiding a "who moved my cheese" scenario.

There is still no other information about this move, so this is definitely something to watch out for.

What do you guys think?
