Known as the global leader in the budget smartphone market, itel Mobile was founded 12 years ago in Hong Kong.

Since then, it has cemented its footprint across 50 countries, where it delivers 15 million of units per month.

It also boasts 1,500 service centers around the globe.

Data from Counterpoint showed that feature phone continued to grow in the third quarter of last year despite the decline seen in the global smartphone market, with iTel Mobile leading the pack.

itel, also with its localised products, has become popular in African market which has helped it become the largest feature phone brand globally, Varun Mishra, research analyst at Counterpoint, said in the report. 

With itel Mobile's entry in the country, we expect it to perform well given its usual target market, which is the budget smartphone segment.

As a quick recap, itel's P33 Plus is an ultra-budget phone priced at PHP 3,499 packed with a 6-inch display, 1.3GHz 64-bit Spreadtrum SC7731E quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 5,000mAh battery, and an 8MP + 8MP dual-camera setup.
