POCOPHONE F1 exits the Philippines; Xiaomi recommends users to get the Mi 9T instead
In a post on the Mi Store Philippines Facebook page, the brand announced that they will no longer sell POCOPHONES. For those who are a fan of this powerful smartphone and would want a unit, the brand is suggesting they go for the equally capable Mi 9T instead.
Accompanying the post is a photo comparison of the specs of the Pocophone F1 and the Mi 9T. Both phones are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, however, the F1's SD 845 has a bit of an edge over the Mi 9T's SD 730+. In the camera department, the Mi 9T is a clear winner with a whopping 48MP triple AI camera rear setup. Battery-wise, both devices offer 4000mAh of built-in juice.
As far as cost is concerned, there's not much difference given that the Mi 9T is a new device while the F1 is around a year old. The highest configuration of the Mi 9T which has a 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage retails for PHP 17,990 while the F1's highest-spec'd unit goes for PHP 15,490.
This sudden pullout of the Pocophone also implies that Xiaomi might discontinue this sub-brand as being budget-conscious-targeted it shares the same market as the Redmi line of smartphones.
