GrabCar Hatchback now available in Metro Manila

Grab Philippines introduces a new transport service, offering lower fares versus its GrabCar Sedan.

Users in select cities in Metro Manila can now book GrabCar Hatchback, the company's latest car service yet, which is composed of small hatchback vehicles. 

In its website, Grab said introducing this in the market was in line with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board's directive (LTFRB) to allow this type of cars to operate in the local ride-sharing sector. 

To ensure safety and comfortable ride, Grab is limiting the number of passengers to only three, including children. It stressed that users must follow this or the driver may cancel the booking.

Grab also said the new car service is much cheaper than the GrabCar Sedan. Based on the LTFRB-approved rates, the base fare is set at PHP 30; PHP 13 per kilometer; and PHP 2 per minute. 

But since the service has a limited supply of cars, Grab has decided to limit the areas it would be servicing with the GrabCar Hatchback. 

If you don’t see it as a vehicle option, it means we’re not available in your area yet. You can still enjoy GrabCar Hatchback if you are booking to or from a different location that’s within our service area, Grab said.
