Dimensity 800 5G is rumored to be Taiwanese chipmaker's bet to take on the Snapdragon 765 early next year.

The chip is speculated to carry the model number MT6873. As per previous reports, it is a 7nm chip that is said to highlight the same architecture of MT6885, but the chip size will be reduced by 25 percent.

The report also said that it will be available on low-end 5G mobile phones of OPPO, Vivo, Huawei, and so on next year.

Other rumors said that it will feature 2x Cortex-A76 cores and 6x Cortex-A50 cores. We are unsure yet if it will come with a built-in 5G modem or not.

Expect MediaTek to reveal more details regarding this chip early next year.
