Independent camera benchmark website DxOMark has just hailed the new Huawei P40 Pro as the highest-rated camera phone yet. The company's new handset also recorded the highest selfie camera rating as well.

Huawei P40 Pro leaves every top camera phones in the dust

At the back, its Leica quad-camera setup achieved a monstrous photo score of 140 points and a video score of 105 points for an average score of 128 points.
DxOMark noted that at 128 points, the Huawei Pro leaves even the best competitors in the dust. It added that it recorded an impeccable performance across all sub-categories of its tests.
DxO said that it has a very wide dynamic range, good details, consistently fast and accurate autofocus in all conditions, excellent texture/noise balance, accurate exposure in night shots, and good detail in bokeh shots.
For videos, it has very effective image stabilization, nice and vivid colors in all conditions, fast and accurate autofocus with good tracking, wide dynamic range, good texture/noise balance in outdoor and indoor clips.

For selfies, the handset got a photo score of 108 points and a video score of 95 points. Huawei P40 Pro edges the Nova 6 5G for the top spot. It produces selfies with good exposure, color, noise, flash, and bokeh.

To recall, the Huawei P40 is a handset equipped with a Leica quad-camera system. It uses a 50MP f/1.9 RYYB Ultra Vision Wide cam with Full Pixel Octa PD Autofocus and OIS, 40MP f/1.8 SuperSensing Cine secondary ultra-wide camera, 12MP f/3.4 RYYB 5x Optical Telephoto with OIS, ToF 3D Depth Sensing Camera, Color Temperature Sensor, and dual-tone LED flash.
Note: DxOMark hasn't tested Huawei's handset with a Penta camera configuration yet, the Huawei P40 Pro+.
