Copy text from paper to your smartphone

Google Lens has been updated with new features that allow users to scan paper documents, select and highlight text and the option to copy, listen, translate and do a Google search of the highlighted text on your smartphone, tablet or PC.

In a YouTube video that demonstrates the new feature, there is a paper document on a desk with text in a foreign language. Google Lens now allows you to scan the paper document and will allow you to select and highlight the text (typewritten or handwritten). A pop-up menu will offer the user the following option: Copy, Google Search, Listen, and Translate.

The most impactful feature is that you can copy text from paper into your smartphone, tablet, or PC. This and all the new features mentioned are now available.

Google Lens is now available for download at the Google Play Store and Apple iOS App Store.
