Meet realme Buds Air Neo, 10000mAh Powerbank 2, and Adventure Backpack

realme is clearly aiming to expand its portfolio by adding AIoT devices to its list of offerings. Not only are they selling smartphones, but they have also launched TWS, TV, power banks, and even backpacks.

Clearly, they want to supplement their value for money smartphones with value for money accessories and companion devices.

So recently, the company launched the Buds Air Neo, Powebank 2, and Adventure Backpack in the Philippines.

To recap, the realme Buds Air Neo features the R1 chip, 13mm dynamic drivers, dual-microphones with ENC, and IPX4 water resistance while the realme 10,000mAh Powerbank 2 has dual-engine 18W fast charge, USB Type-A, and USB Type-C port. 

The new Adventure backpack features outer pockets for quick access to small items and large inner pockets for documents or laptops.

Let's take a closer look at these new swag items from realme.

The boxes

Both the Buds Air Neo and the Powerbank 2 come in bright yellow boxes with realme branding while the Adventure backpack comes in a transparent bag with an attached realme tag.

Inside the realme Buds Air Neo box are the charging case, two earphones, USB Type-A to the micro USB charging cable, and documentation.

In front of the realme Buds Air Neo is the pairing button and the charging case latch.

At the bottom of the charging case is the micro USB port for charging and on top is a smooth curved surface. The outer shell of the earphones and the charging case is made of smooth and shiny polycarbonate.

The realme Powerbank 2's outer shell is made of solid but lightweight polycarbonate with a rough texture across the yellow-colored surface. In front is the realme branding while the back is free from any graphic or text.

On top of the Powerbank 2 are the USB Type-A, Type-C, LED power indicator, and power button while at the bottom are the product and regulatory information. 

The massive 10000mAh battery cells fit in a 15mm thin body that weighs only 216 grams. This means that could the power bank and a smartphone can fit together in a small clutch bag without being too heavy.

Adventure backpack

The new Adventure backpack is made of a black colored tough high-quality fabric that lines the whole backpack. On the outside, the front has two outer pockets and the main compartment while at the back are the shoulder harness.

The main compartment's cover can be closed with a realme yellow string zipper with an additional flap that locks into place with two clips. While the outer pocket's flaps are closed with strong velcro.

In the middle of the shoulder harness is the hang tab. Under it is the soft but breathable cushion to add comfort after a long day of carrying the backpack while.

Performance

When opening the realme Buds Air Neo for the first time, you need to pair it with your selected device. Open the top of the charging case and then press and hold on the pairing button in front of the charging case. On your smart device, a notification should pop-up that prompts the user to "Tap to pair this realme Air Buds Neo".

Buds Air Neo comes with stable connectivity and low latency mode!

Tap the notification and that unit of Buds Air Neo will be tied to your main Google Account. This means that you can now pair it with any device with the same Google Account. 

Once paired, you have access to several control features like selectively play either Phone or Media audio on the Air Buds Neo. There is also a High-Quality Audio mode.

The Air Buds Neo's earphones produce a sound that has decent bass and mids but with a higher focus on the treble (highs). There is some distortion at maximum volume and the sound stage has a decent size but is somewhat artificial. Most people won't notice these nitpicks and will be happy with their performance given its price point.

At this price point, the sound quality still goes to the SoundPEATS that we reviewed at this link. But, the major advantage of the realme Buds Air Neo is the convenience in pairing with realme smart devices.

realme Powerbank 2 and Buds Air Neo

The Powerbank 2's 10,000mAh battery supports two way 18W Quick Charge via the USB-C. This means the Powerbank 2 can be charged and can charge other devices with 18W quick charge. 

When we charged our 4,300mAh battery realme 6, it took around 2 hours and 30 minutes to charge it from 5 percent to 100 percent. 

Charging the 10,000mAh battery with the 18W fast charger takes around 3 hours and 30 minutes from empty to full.

The Adventure backpack, on the other hand, has a maximum capacity of 30L meaning you can stuff a 13-inch Apple Macbook Pro with a thick case or thick laptop sleeve on it with room for other items. The dedicated laptop pocket secures the laptop in place while carrying the bag around. 

The main compartment has two closing systems. The first is the yellow rope that wraps around the mouth of the compartment and the other is the large cover on top of the main compartment that uses two quick-release clips to lockdown. 

The outer pocket is perfect for power banks, identification cards, and other small items. The velcro flaps are strong enough to secure the items inside.

At the back are the shoulder harnesses that can be adjusted to fit the user's body size. Depending on the total weight of items in the bag, the harness can comfortable for short-time carry.

The breathable soft cushion-lined back adds a bit of comfort for long bag carrying sessions. After several hours of wearing the bag, we found ourselves still sweating.

Overall, we are pleased that realme is trying to introduce a whole ecosystem of products that work and look well together. 

The realme Buds Air Neo is priced affordably with decent sound and build quality while having long total battery life. While the Powerbank 2 is handy because of its high 10,000mAh capacity and its 18W fast charging capabilities.

And lastly, the Adventure Backpack looks cool while being made of quality materials that can carry a lot of items in its 30L capacity compartment. It even has a dedicated laptop and small-item pockets.

Buds Air Neo costs PHP 1,990, the Powerbank 2 costs PHP 1,190, and the realme Adventure backpack costs only PHP 1,490.
