The digital payment in the country obviously got the Coronavirus kick as Filipinos have started realizing the convenience of going digital to manage their finances, and e-wallet PayMaya is helping the adoption through its Smart Padala.

PayMaya—which offers a mobile app where users could have a virtual card, allowing them to pay online—has strengthened its network to make it more accessible to Filipinos across the Philippines.

Since the coronavirus pandemic limits the movement of people, PayMaya is banking on its Smart Padala agents deployed nationwide to support Filipinos' adoption of digital payments. 

The mobile wallet boasts an easy way to put funds on their account through its more than 30,000 Smart Padala agents, assuring that a user can always find one in their community.

So, how can you add money to your PayMaya account?

1. Go to any Smart Padala agent and tell the agent that you're adding money to your PayMaya account.

2. To Add Money via code, simply tap "Add-Money" in your PayMaya app and choose "Smart Padala via code."

To Add Money via mobile number, just fill out the transaction slip, include the amount you want to add and your mobile number linked to your PayMaya account.

3. Give your Add Money code or transaction slip to the Smart Padala agent.

4. Present a valid ID (student IDs are accepted) as you make your payment.*

5. Wait for an SMS confirmation before leaving the branch.

Note: PayMaya said that the minimum amount you can add is PHP 100.

Users will be charged a PHP 15 service fee for adding up to PHP 1,000 in their account, and another PHP 7.50 for every additional PHP 500 beyond the initial PHP 1,000.
