Huawei Mate 40 Series include the vanilla Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and Mate 40 Pro+

Similar to previous Mate releases, these devices are equipped with class-leading aesthetics, next-generation chips, and very powerful cameras.

Huawei said that it used materials from green packaging. With this, the company claimed that it has reduced hazardous materials by 21,778 tons and saved 210,000 trees.

Design-wise, it retained the Mate's symmetrical design. At the back, Huawei uses a glass-like material in different colors with a Space Ring Design for the cameras. Mate 40 Pro+ retained the Nano-Tech Ceramic technology similar to the P40 Pro+. There are versions with Vegan Leather as well.

Huawei also highlighted that these phones can work even in a cold environment, unlike other smartphones.

In front, it uses a curved panel with 88-degree curvature with side controls.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ boast a large 6.76-OLED display with 2772 x 1334 resolution. The refresh rate is still 90Hz, but it now has a 240Hz touch sample rate.

The company said that it retained the 90Hz instead of going to 120Hz as it is the best balance between smoothness and battery efficiency.

Mate 40 has a 6.5-inch FHD+ 2376 x 1080 OLED display with a single punch-hole while the Mate 40 Pro devices come with a pill-shaped punch-hole to house the selfie cameras and other sensors.
