Cebuana Lhuillier first introduced Micro Savings in 2019. It provided unbanked and underbanked Filipinos with basic savings no matter who and where they are. It further empowered people to start their savings to secure their financial future.

Cebuana Lhuillier Rural Bank saw this as an opportunity to make sure that account holders or "Iponaryos" as they are now called to have access to their hard-earned money whenever they need it.

The Micro Savings Account now has four new features for this. They now partnered with BancNet and UnionPay, services linked to the eCebuana App, and QR technology for added security. First up, Iponaryos can now have access to their finances using BancNet's 21,000 ATMs and 114 member banks.

With the tie with UnionPay, it allows account holders to make debit payments through over 350,000 POS terminals as well as partner merchants nationwide. This adds enhanced payment security with UnionPay chip cards as it can use UnionPay Contactless technology.

Additional features for your Micro Savings Account can also be accessed through the eCebuana app. You can now do money transfers via InstaPay, pay bills, buy mobile load, insurance purchase, as well as pawning ticket renewal, and jewelry purchases.

Lastly, Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings now has QR technology within the eCebuana app. This feature will be able to make money transfers and retail payments seamless and secure. Money transfers and retail payments via QR code will be available by March 2021.
