OPPO A55 5G with HD+ screen and Dimensity 700 SoC now official

In China, OPPO earlier introduced a new affordable 5G capable smartphone called A55 5G.

OPPO A55 5G is a device featuring a gradient back design with a rectangular camera hump for its 3 back cameras. In the front, it highlights a 6.5-inch LCD panel with a disappointing HD+ resolution with a notch housing its 8MP f/2.0m selfie camera.

Inside, powering this phone is MediaTek's 7nm Dimensity 700 chip that uses 2x Cortex-A76 big cores with up to 2.2GHz clock speed, 6x Cortex-A55 efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz, ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, and a built-in 5G modem with up to 2CC 5G-CA and 5G dual SIM dual standby (DSDS) support as well as the 5G-exclusive Voice over new Radio (VoNR) services.

The chip of this phone is paired with ample 6GB RAM, 128GB expandable storage up to 1TB via microSD slot, and a 5,000mAh battery with USB-C 10W charging.

For the back cameras, you'll find a 13MP f/2.2 main camera, 2MP f/2.4 macro camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 portrait filter camera.

This also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, 3.5mm jack, WiFi 802.11 ac, 5G NSA/SA, 4G LTE, dual SIM slots, and Android 11 OS with ColorOS 11.1 skin.

It measures 163.9 x 75.7 x 8.4 mm and weighs 186 grams.

This handset is now available in China for CNY 1,599.

There's no word when will it be available in other parts of the world yet.
