Psyonix, the studio behind the popular PC title on steam announced that a mobile version of Rocket League is coming soon to mobile devices this year.
The brand new mobile version is coined as "Rocket League Sideswipe" is currently being developed by Psyonix which is under Epic Games Umbrella. The developers hope to bring the same competitive car soccer game experience of Rocket League PC on the smartphones with a new perspective on the field. Mobile gamers will compete in fast-paced, 2 minutes, 1v1, or 2v2 matches.
Longtime Rocket League veterans and beginners alike will be able to leap right into the action-packed fun of car soccer thanks to intuitive touchscreen controls that make it simple to pick up and play.
There will also be a Ranking system for players who want to test their skills in a competitive environment, and a garage for players who want to customize their car just like in Rocket League on Steam.
The Rocket League Sideswipe is going to be free and will launch worldwide on Appstore and Google Playstore later this year. Right now, a Regional Limited Alpha test is ongoing for Android via Google Play in Australia and New Zealand.
There will also be a future beta test for other regions and more details will be distributed in the next coming months on the Rocket League website.
Now, who's excited?
