Faster and better for mid-range devices!

Snapdragon 780G is the direct successor of the Snapdragon 765G. It brings several upgrades in speed and premium features to a mid-range SoC.

Built under Samsung's 5nm process, the new mid-range Mobile Platform features a 1x Cortex-A78 power core clocked at 2.4GHz, 3x Cortex-A78 mid-cores at 2.2GHz, and 4x Cortex-A55 cores at 1.9GHz.

For GPU, it uses the Adreno 642 GPU. It also has support for Vulkan 1.1, Snapdragon Elite Gaming, HDR Gaming, and HDR10+.

The AI it is using is a 6th gen AI engine with Hexagon 770 processor, a 2nd gen Qualcomm Sensing Hub, and up to 12 TOPS performance.

The display supports up to FHD+ at 144Hz, 10-bit color depth, HDR10+. The RAM is still at LPDDR4 (2133MHz), but the RAM support is up to 16GB from 12GB.

This chip also highlights a new triple 14-bit Spectra 570 ISP with up to 84MP camera with Zero Shutter La, dual-cam with up to 64MP + 20MP, triple-cam with up to 25MP, 4K HDR, slow-motion up to 720p at 480fps, and HDR10+.

The chip also uses an integrated Snapdragon X53 4G LTE and 5G multimode modem with up to 3.3 Gbps 5G downlink. It also has the Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 tech, WiFi 6E, WiFi 6, 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands, 8x8 MU MIMO, Bluetooth 5.2, aptX, and Dual Bluetooth antenna.

Snapdragon 780g also has Snapdragon Sound compatibility and Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ tech. 

The chip is expected to be available in devices this Q2 2021.
