ANC for SKYPE

The new version 8.076.48 brings several important improvements for Skype on Windows 10, but the main highlight which happened for the first time, Skype now supports an active noise cancellation feature.

This is significantly important particularly in this pandemic era where many users of the app work only at home or attend their school online where background noise is inevitable. The users will no longer be troubled greatly by the annoying environmental noise during video conferences or calls.

Furthermore, the preview version also has brought some feature updates and improvements.

Skype 8.70.76.48 preview version Changelog:

  • Background noise in your meetings? No problem. We have noise cancellation now!
  • Fewer passwords. Adding WAM support to Windows 10 so you can switch between multiple accounts without a prompt to enter a password every time.
  • See who's on the call. We've added a participants button to Skype calls, so you can see who's in the call.
  • We also moved privacy-related settings into one top-level Privacy category in the app
  • More performance improvements.

Microsoft said, there will be upcoming new features currently in development and will be available in the near future. See below for the list:

  • Supports Skype on Safari
  • Supports Skype on Chromium-based browsers
  • To support background blur for Skype for Web
  • The ability to lock the meeting
  • Searching for contacts by phone number
  • This update will be available for desktop and mobile versions.

What do you guys think of this update?
