ASUS Zenfone 8 will launch on May 12, compact design hinted
ASUS officially confirms that the ZenFone 8 will be introduced on May 12 thru a countdown landing page on the company's website.

Will the ZenFone finally return to the Philippines?
On the company's website, a countdown timer landing page went live with the logo of the ZenFone 8 and with the caption 'Big on Performance. Compact in Size.' At the time of this article's writing, the countdown has 18 days and 8 hours to go until the timer runs out. The date it counts down to is on May 12, 2021, in New York and in Berlin and is at 1AM, May 13, 2021, Taipei and Philippine time.
GizmoChina reports that several sources have claimed that the ZenFone 8 series will be a compact-sized flagship and it will be called the ZenFone 8 Mini. Other recent reports claim that the ZenFone 8 Mini was under the codename Sake and the model number SUS_ZS590KS/ASUS_I006D. These reports expect the ZenFone 8 Mini to have a 5.92-inch OLED display with 2400 x 1080 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset.

The phone with the same model was recently listed on GeekBench where it was revealed that the device could possibly have up to 16GB of RAM. The listing also said that the alleged ZenFone 8 Mini scored 1121 in single-core and 3662 in multi-core tests.

Aside from the GeekBench listing, the phone with the same model was also recently granted a TUV SUD Certification. This listing revealed that the phone will have 30W fast charging technology.
GizmoChina also reports that the second model in the line-up with code name Picasso with the model number of ASUS_ZS672KS/ASUS_I004D. Reports claim that it will have a larger 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, 16GB RAM, 64MP main camera, 12.2MP secondary camera, 8MP tertiary camera and a 24MP selfie camera.
While the third model in the series will allegedly have the codename vodka and the model number ASUS_Z5675KW/ASUS_I007D. This model is expected to have a 6.7-inch display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888.
Aside from the launch date, ASUS has yet to reveal any details of the new ZenFone 8 series.
We will have to wait until the launch to know more.
