Ookla: Globe Telecom has the most consistent mobile network in Q1

Globe Telecom continues to have the most consistent mobile network performance in the Philippines, data from global analytics firm Ookla showed.

Globe remains the leader in mobile network consistency

For the first three months of 2021, Globe recorded a nationwide consistency score of 70.43, higher than its competitor.

At the regional level, Globe posted the highest mobile consistency scores in Calabarzon, Central Luzon, Northern Mindanao, Ilocos Region, Eastern Visayas, Bicol, MIMAROPA, Cagayan Valley, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Cordillera Administrative Region.

Mobile consistency score is determined by the number of tests taken that are above a certain speed threshold.

The Ayala-led telco also emerged as the leader in mobile median download speed in 10 out of 17 regions: Bicol, Cagayan Valley, Caraga, CAR, Eastern Visayas, Ilocos Region, Northern Mindanao, Region XII, and Zamboanga Peninsula.

In a statement, Globe President and Chief Executive Officer Ernest Cu said network upgrades and expansion will continue despite restrictions brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are happy that our relentless efforts to improve our network are now being experienced by our customers. We expect our site builds and upgrades to continue despite the pandemic to provide more access and higher data capacity for our customers, said Cu.
