Back on April 1, GizmoChina reported that the Samsung Galaxy Quantum2 with model number A82xq was listed on the Google Play Console which revealed the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC, 6GB RAM but with a lower 2400 x 1080 resolution display.

Fast forward to today, In South Korea, Samsung and SK Telecom have just announced the new Samsung Galaxy Quantum2 with a built-in Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) chip built-in. This chip makes the device safer by generating an unpredictable and patternless TRUE random number which is said to be immune against hackers or exploiters unless they have physical access to the devices. The QRNG chip also automatically secures the services (including payments) that are based on Android Keystore (APIs).

This feature supports banking services of Shinhan Bank, Standard Chartered Bank Korea along with services like 11Street, T World, SK Pay, PASS, and T Membership. The feature will expand in the future to include Samsung's Card and SKT's music streaming service FLO.

Aside from its unique feature, the Galaxy Quantum2 has a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ Infinity-O display with 1200 nits peak brightness, 3200 x 1440p resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Inside are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC with a 5G modem, 6GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage, 4500mAh battery with 25W Adaptive Fast Charging, and Android 11 OS-based One UI.

At the back of the Quantum2 is a 64MP f/1.8 main camera, 12MP f/2.2 123-degree ultra-wide camera, and 5MP f/2.4 Macro while in front is a 10MP f/2.2 selfie camera.

It will come in White, Dark Grey, and Light Violet colorways and will be exclusive to South Korea. Pre-orders will begin on April 13 and until April 19. It will be available for purchase on April 23 in South Korea. There is no price yet as of the time of this article's writing.

Report expects the device to be rebranded as the Galaxy A82 like when the original Galaxy Quantum eventually became the Galaxy A80 in 2019.
