Google services to return on HONOR smartphones?

A year ago, tech giant Huawei sold its subsidiary HONOR to Zhixin New Information Technology Co. Ltd, a consortium formed by agents and dealers of the Honor brand, and Shenzhen Smart City Development Group Co. Ltd.

Huawei said that this move has been made by HONOR's industry chain to ensure its own survival. The company said that its consumer business has been under "tremendous pressure" due to the "persistent unavailability" of technical elements for its phone business.

After the deal was done, HONOR has been discussing with American firms that were previously banned from conducting business with it. According to the source, Qualcomm and Google are included in those companies.

With a recent post from the official HONOR Germany Twitter, it was implied that the negotiation went well. The account replied to a question asking if the upcoming HONOR 50 series will be equipped with Google Mobile Services.

Although they meant it as a surprise, HONOR Germany confirmed it by saying yes. There's also an assumption that the HONOR 50 series will be launched in Germany since the account is also the source of the teaser.

HONOR fans have been waiting for the arrival of the new series. A week ago, the company already announced that it will be powered by the newly announced Snapdragon 778G processor. Meanwhile, there's also a leak from China revealing the possible design of the alleged HONOR 50.

The company is not yet announcing the official launch date but the HONOR 50 family is expected to arrive sometime in June. We'll keep you posted for updates.
