New AIoT and lifestyle devices from realme "D"?
During the realme 8 Pro global launch, the CEO and Vice President of realme India and Europe Madhav Sheth gave a hint about a new brand under its tech-life division. However, there are expectations that it won't have a grand launch due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the country.
With a brand name 'D', industry experts said that it will have its own line of products. This sub-brand aims to develop products with a new technology experience for users. With D, realme promises to deliver products with uniform design language, quality assurance, and internet experience.
Upcoming brand "D" reportedly plans to release more than 100 new AIoT and lifestyle products in 2021. This TWS, affordable smart TVs, smart plugs, trimmers, smart bulbs, and others.
In order to achieve that mission, they will allegedly perform through independent research and development, joint custom development, and product selection. Aside from that, the TechLife ecosystem of the company will look for innovative partners worldwide.
According to the source, TechLife will help other starting brands with similar dreams to make more versatile technology products in the country. Madhav Sheth explained,
We will be supporting our partners who have joined the ‘realme TechLife' platform with our product, research and development, supply, and quality assurance. We leave options to onboard brands to choose their original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners freely.
Sheth also stated that some brands have their own factories. In case they will require the support of a local OEM, he said that realme will provide all the assistance in figuring out local OEM partners for them. The CEO added that they will help the brands to find OEM companies who can be their partners in manufacturing their products with the best quality assurance.
