Smart rolls out 5G roaming services in the US with AT&T

The 5G roaming services of PLDT's wireless arm Smart Communications is now in the United States following its partnership with telco giant AT&T.

 

Smart 5G roaming services in the US?

This latest deal has allowed the Pangilinan-led telco to expand its 5G roaming services to 16 countries, it said in a statement.

We are the first Philippine operator to launch a complete roaming pack for our prepaid customers in the United States. The U.S. is among the top destinations of tourists and migrant Filipinos, and this partnership with AT&T propels us forward in our goal to bring our world-class 5G roaming services to them, said Alice Ramos, Vice President and Head of Roaming and Consumer Business at Smart.

Customers in the US can now access Smart's 5G roaming services as long as they have a 5G-ready SIM card and smartphone.

Smart Communications said customers can subscribe to the GigaRoam USA Plus for Prepaid, which claimed to be the only roaming all-in plan for data, calls, and SMS.

The package includes 3GB data roaming access, 30 roaming calls, and 30 roaming texts to Philippine and U.S. numbers. Subscribers only need to pay for PHP 1,499 for the package, valid for 21 days.

Smart Communications also activated its 5G roaming in Australia with Vodafone; in China with China Mobile; in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia with Zain; full 5G roaming coverage in United Arab Emirates with Etisalat; in Taiwan with FarEasTone; and in South Korea with KT Corp.
