OnePlus Nord 2 will be powered by a custom MediaTek Dimensity 1200 flagship chip!
OnePlus has just confirmed that the Nord 2 will be powered by MediaTek's most powerful chip set—the Dimensity 1200.

OnePlus Nord 2 is coming!
To recap, the 6nm Dimensity 1200 boasts an octa-core design featuring ARM's Cortex-A78 Ultra Core clocked at 3GHz. It is paired with 3x 2.6GHz Cortex-A78 Super Cores and 4x 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 Efficiency Cores. It also has a Mali-G77 nine-core GPU, six-core MediaTek APU 3.0, UFS 3.1 support, and an integrated 5G modem.

But this isn't your ordinary Dimensity 1200, OnePlus said that they collaborated with MediaTek to customize and push the limits of the said chip by bringing AI-based features. So, it will be called Dimensity 1200 AI.
OnePlus said that AI-assisted imaging is for an improved photography experience, display enhancements, and better response times for faster and smoother gaming, among others.
Based on recent leaks, the Nord 2 will be packed with a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and an In-Display fingerprint scanner, 8GB or 12GB RAM, 128GB or 256GB storage, 4,500mAh battery, 50MP + 8MP + 2MP triple-cam, and 32MP selfie cam.
The 50MP cam could be the same Sony IMX766 found on the OnePlus 9 Pro. Design-wise, it might use a OnePlus 9-like look.
Leaker Abhishek Yadav shared an image that it will be launched on July 22, 2021.
