Globe Telecom said it recorded higher mobile data traffic versus its main rival PLDT in the first half of 2021, proving that it is the preferred mobile network by Filipinos.

Globe beats the competition in mobile traffic
The telco giant said mobile data traffic reached 1,761 petabytes in January to June period, a 59 percent jump from the same period in 2020.
The figure was also higher than the competition's 1,579 petabytes. Note that one petabyte is equivalent to one million gigabytes of data. The competition wasn't mentioned, but it is likely PLDT's wireless arm Smart.

For the first semester, Globe further improved its network infrastructure with more cell towers installed and sites upgraded.
Its 641 new towers were deployed in Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Laguna, Iloilo, Cavite, Rizal, Batangas, Cebu, Bulacan, and Pampanga. A total of 8,175 sites, meanwhile, were upgraded in the period.
The group also completed its network expansion in Pangasinan, Misamis Oriental, Nueva Ecija, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac and Capiz, Aklan, Antique, Siquijor and Guimaras.
