A tablet with kiddie-friendly features!
The tablet comes in a kiddie case made from environmentally safe silicon that has all-around protection for both the device and its young users. It comes with a blue shell and cute green strips, and Huawei says that it is comfortable to hold for smaller hands as this device had curved backs for a better grip. It will also come in with a stylus for a more interactive experience for the users.
The case along with the stylus pen meets the European Standards on the Safety of Toys and has passed the Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS).
The tablet uses an 8-inch LCD screen with 1280x800 resolution. Huawei also made sure that the kid users' eye health is safe that's why they put a built-in color adjustment module that intelligently adjusts to the content on the display.
Inside the device, it is powered by a 12nm Helio P22T processor paired with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU and is also equipped with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.
As for the battery, it has 5,100 mAh and can be charged with a MicroUSB cable and a Standard 5V and 1A power brick.
It also uses a 5MP with f/2.2 aperture single camera, while the front-facing camera uses a 2MP f/2.4 aperture.

This device comes also with a kiddie-friendly feature known as the Kids Corner. It has a built-in gravity sensor to determine when the users are lying flat, which will prompt a message to encourage the young users to adjust their posture properly. There's also an algorithm that detects the tablet when shaking which will remind the kids to use the device in a stable state, thus helping them to develop better eye habits.
The Kids Edition of the MatePad T8 also has pre-installed rich educational content for young users to read. Lastly, parents can also manage the time spent on their kid's device on this tablet allowing them to set multiple designated time limit intervals throughout the day.
Huawei also partnered with two leading educational developers that create apps for children. That means this device will come in free three-month membership to Baby Panda World and a free one-year membership to Azoomee. These apps will give a constant stream of updated content for more fun learning.
As for the connectivity it has dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0. As for the operating system, it will be using the EMUI10 based on Android 10.
