realme 8i and 8s 5G to go official on September 9

Just a few after teasing that it will release a device with Dimensity 810 SoC, realme revealed the company will launch the realme 8i and 8s on September 9.

realme shared that the realme 8i will be equipped with the Helio G96 SoC and 120Hz screen. Meanwhile, the realme 8 5G will be the world's first smartphone packed with the Dimensity 810 SoC.


The two phones will also feature the Dynamic RAM Expansion (DRE) technology to allow its users to expand the phone's ram virtually by using its internal storage similar to other realme 8 models.

To recap, Helio G96 comes with up to120Hz FHD+ (1080p+) displays, octa-core CPU design boasting 2x ARM Cortex-A76 cores up to 2.05GHz, LPDDR4X RAM support, up to UFS 2.2 storage, support, and Global 4G LTE with Dual 4G SIM.

Meanwhile, Dimensity 810 is a mid-range octa-core chip featuring an ARM Cortex-A55 and Cortex-A76 cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz paired with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It also has support for up to LPDDR4X RAM, up to UFS 2.2 storage, 2560 x 1080 resolution screens up to 120Hz, and a 64MP single camera or dual 16MP sensors. This chip has WiFi 5, 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NavIC, and more as well.

realme has yet to reveal the official full specs of the new devices. But according to leaks, realme 8i will come with 4GB RAM, 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, a 5,000mAh battery, and a fingerprint reader embedded in the power key.

On the other hand, realme 8s is said to come with a 6.5-inch 90Hz screen, 6GB or 8GB RAM, 128GB or 256GB expandable storage, 5,000mAh battery, USB-C 33W fast charging, 64MP main shooter, 16MP selfie cam, side-mounted fingerprint reader, and Android 11 OS with realme UI 2.0 skin.
