The Sharp Aquos zero6

Two sleek-looking mid-range devices from Sharp

The Aquos zero6 uses a dewdrop display design on the front. While its back cover appears in a sleek-looking fashion. This device only weighs 146 grams and Sharp claims this phone is the lightest 5G smartphone with a huge battery yet but of course, it comes with a number of asterisks.

For comparison, iPhone 12 mini weighs 135 grams though it has a tiny 2,227mAh battery while the newer iPhone 13 mini weighs 141 grams and has a 2,438mAh battery.

Moving to the screen, it uses a 6.4-inch IGZO OLED panel with a high refresh rate of 240Hz and FHD+ resolution. Additionally, the screen is also supported with 10-bit imagery and protection of Gorilla Glass Victus.

Inside, it is powered by the 8nm Snapdragon 750G chipset. It is also equipped with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 128GB internal memory.

Like we mentioned earlier, despite being light in weight, this phone uses a huge battery of 4010mAh.

For the cameras, it has a triple-camera setup with LED flash. The main sensor uses a 48MP 26mm f/1.8 lens, followed by an 8MP telephoto shooter with up to 2-times zoom and an 8MP for ultra-wide sensor, 3D ToF sensor, and laser AF system. For the front-facing camera, it will be a 12.6MP sensor. Sharp also included its latest ProPix3 picture processing engine in the phone, which boasts a wide dynamic range.

Other features include IP68 and IPX5 for dust and water resistance and an In-display fingerprint reader. For connectivity, it has Bluetooth 5.1, 5G data support, NFC with Osaifu-Keitai, and dual-band WiFi while the Operating System will be Android 11.

The next phone will be the Sharp Aquos Sense6. It shares the identical design from the phone above but with toned-down features.

It uses a smaller 6.1-inch IGZO OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a lower 120Hz refresh rate. But of course, it is still fast as today's standards. It can also handle 10-bit HDR images and supports a peak brightness of 1,300 nits.

Inside, it is powered with an 8nm Snapdragon 690 chipset with memory configurations of either 4/64GB and 6/128GB options. Its internal storage will also be UFS 2.2 for faster reading times. However, the battery on this one was bigger as it got 4,570mAh.

Moving to its cameras, it uses 48MP 26mm f/1.8 for the main sensor with ProPix3 engine, paired with 8MP 2x telephoto zoom and 8MP ultrawide sensor. The difference will be the absence of 3D ToF sensors, laser AF and the front-facing module is down to an 8MP sensor.

Other features will be the same such as the water and dust protection IP68 and IPX5 rating.

Talking about connectivity, the handset supports 5G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, GNSS, NFC with Osaifu-Keitai, a USB Type-C port.
