Gaming-focused OnePlus 9RT with SD888, 50MP cam, improved cooling, and ColorOS 12 now official!

OnePlus in China earlier announced the OnePlus 9RT. It's a device with a flagship-grade chipset targeting mobile gamers.

OnePlus 9RT for gamers, now official

Design-wise, it is similar to the OnePlus 9. It comes with a 3D curved back design with a frosted paint finish in Silver, Black, and Sky Blue colors.

In front, it goes with a larger 6.62-inch E4 Fluid AMOLED screen with an extra-smooth 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, FHD+ 2400 x 1080 resolution at 402 ppi, top-left punch-hole for the 16MP selfie cam, and an In-Display fingerprint reader.

Under the hood, it is powered by the 2.84GHz 5nm Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor with Adreno 660 GPU. It also has 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 7GB virtual RAM, 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage, and a 4,500mAh battery capacity with USB-C 65W fast charging.

To keep the performance in check, it uses a 19067.44 mm² space cooling system.

Back and front design

To make the gaming experience even better, it goes with 3x WiFi antennas with a  dedicated gaming antenna for a stable network while playing online games.

The device also has a GPA frame stabilization technology to intelligently allocate resources needed for scheduling games to achieve a stable frame rate and control power consumption and heat generation.

This also has the UI First + IO pre-loading to make apps start quickly.

For cameras, it uses the same 50MP f/1.8 Sony IMX766 sensor from the Nord 2 with OIS. It is paired with a better 16MP f/2.24 123-degree ultra-wide-angle + 2MP 4cm macro + LED flash.

It runs with ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 OS. Yes, not OxygenOS. OxygenOS is for global users.
