Smart now allows internal Mobile Number Portability through GigaLife app

Two weeks after the effectiveness of the Mobile Number Portability Act, Smart rolled out the service in its GigaLife app.

Internal porting only

To recap, the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) Act ensures that an individual can keep their mobile number when they switch networks or change their subscription from postpaid to prepaid and vice versa. The process itself is FREE of charge. 

If you're a Smart or TNT subscriber, you can take advantage of the swift internal porting through the GigaLife app. In case you didn't know, internal porting is the transfer of your subscription from postpaid to prepaid (vice versa), and TNT to Smart (vice versa). Here's how it looks like in-app:

We can't provide the full details of how it works since we haven't tried it ourselves because we're not availing of the internal porting. In case you'll try this service, simply follow the instructions on the screen.
