Xiaomi reveals a smart door lock with 3D face unlock!
Xiaomi have already a number of smart door lock products in the past and this time, it released the Face Recognition Smart Door Lock X.

Smart door locks can be a great way to start making your home safer and more convenient. Unlike traditional door locks, smart door locks have the added advantage of being more secure because you can use things like passcodes or even biometric security like fingerprints to unlock the door.
Tech giant Xiaomi is taking things even further with its latest smart door lock that is equipped with facial recognition built into it so that it can unlock when it detects the homeowner’s face.
Allegedly, the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock X features a self-made 3D structured light face recognition module. The face unlock system boasts of a dot projector, infrared light, RGB camera, light sensor, proximity sensor, and an infrared camera. According to the company, the door will unlock once a recognized face is in proximity.
Aside from face recognition, this new smart door lock supports 7 other unlock methods such as fingerprint, password, and NFC. Also. the door will automatically lock once the user shuts it. The lock will alert him/her when an unrecognized person is at the door.
Inside, this smart lock is powered by a hefty 6250mAh battery that is most probably rechargeable. This home accessory is not only compatible with Mijia app but also works with Apple HomeKit.

The mentioned apps will not only allow users to configure the smart door lock but will also log in usage. In this way, they can check when access was granted and who it was granted to as the door lock also takes a photo of who used the door.
Xiaomi hadn't announced the price of this smart door lock yet. Details regarding its pricing and availability will be revealed this coming October 12 so stay tuned.
