The announcement didn't come as a surprise as the smartphone released in 2018 is already 3 years old.

OnePlus said that they have serviced the device with 3 major updates, more than 3 years of updates, around 60 Closed Beta builds, and over 30 Open Beta builds.

The representative of OnePlus thanked its users for their constant support to constantly improve the software experience and more. The company also promised that it will continue to listen to its customers to build even better products in the future.

The last major update that the smartphones received is the OxygenOS 11 update based on Android 11 OS. The last security patch arrived last December 2021.

This means that those who plan to use the devices will not be getting updates anymore. They can also check third-party ROM solutions if ever.

To recap, both the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T are premium smartphones with the Snapdragon 845 chip. OnePlus 6T is the better device with a bigger display with smaller notch, larger battery capacity.
