Manila City wants Elon Musk's low-orbit satellite

In a statement, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno bared that the City Council of Manila has authorized him to negotiate with Musk's company for the purchase of Starlink low-orbit satellite.

This is aimed at boosting the internet state in Manila, especially for its public school students. Moreno added students may expect high-speed broadband services, assuring there would be no dead spots.

He said he would negotiate with SpaceX Enterprise Group, which is the marketing arm of Elon Musk’s Starlink company. Space Exploration Technologies Corp. or SpaceX is an American aerospace manufacturer founded by Elon Musk.

Moreno, who is vying for the country's top government position, hopes the whole Philippines will benefit from Starlink's technology.

So malaking tulong itong kay Elon Musk dahil may signal ito kahit may bagyo at lindol, Moreno said.
