Redmi K40S with SD870, 120Hz E4 AMOLED screen now official

Along with the Redmi K50 series, the Redmi K40S was also launched. It features an SD870 SoC, 120Hz E4 AMOLED screen, and better thermal management.

Redmi K40S comes with the Snapdragon 870

In terms of design, it is similar to the Redmi K50 series with 4 colors namely Iridescent, Black, Green, and Silver. It has the same rectangular camera bump as well. According to Xiaomi, it boasts an enhanced cooling system with a vapor chamber area of 3112mm2 and a liquid-cooled heat dissipation area that has been expanded by 400 percent compared to the Redmi K40.

For the screen, it has a 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED screen with 2400 x 1080 FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+. MEMC, 1300-nit max brightness, 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, Gorilla Glass 5 protection. 

Inside, it has the 7nm 3.2GHz Snapdragon 870 octa-core processor, Adreno 650 GPU, up to12GB RAM, up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging.

For cameras, it has a triple camera setup with a 48MP f/1.79 1/1.2-inch Sony IMX main sensor with OIS  + 8MP f/2.2 119-degree ultra-wide-angle sensor + 2MP f/2.4 macro sensor with LED flash. It also has a 20MP f/2.4 selfie sensor.

It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IR sensor, dual-speakers, Dolby Atmos, USB-C, WiFi 6, 5G SA/NSA, 4G VoLTE, and Bluetooth 5.1. It also has Android 12 and MIUI 13 on top.

The Redmi K40S is currently only available in China. Local price and availability are yet to be confirmed. We will update you as soon as we get more information.
