Strong Q3 2023 for Apple!
This is based on the data from Strategy Analytics. It says that global smartphone shipments fell by minus 9 percent year-over-year (YoY) to 297 million units in Q3 of 2022.
With 16 percent of the market, Apple came in second, recording its fruitful third-quarter output in the previous 12 years.
Samsung has a 22 percent market worldwide on all smartphones in the same quarter. The rest smartphone brands belong to the top 5 such as Xiaomi, OPPO (including OnePlus), and vivo.
We forecast global smartphone shipments to decline -percent to -10 percent YoY in full-year 2022. Geopolitical issues, economic downturn, energy shortage, price hikes, exchange rate volatility, and Covid disruption will continue to weaken consumer demand during the last quarter of 2022. All these headwinds would continue through the first half of next year before the situation eases in the second half of 2023. Samsung and Apple would continue to outperform and remain top two places. Chinese brands need to stabilize their performance in China market and explore new growth engines to terminate the falling track, says Linda Sui, senior director at Strategy Analytics.
Strategy analytics suggest that Apple received this achievement with the release of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max however the demand for iPhone 14 remained mixed.
They also said that the competition among the top five was "fierce". The rest of the top ten rates are Transsion, HONOR, realme, Lenovo-Motorola, and HUAWEI. But all of them delivered mixed results as well.
