Taiwanese tech giant ASUS yesterday launched the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED in the Philippines. On paper, it is one of the most exciting laptop releases we've seen in years.

The most futuristic-looking laptop in the Philippines!

To those who missed it, the ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED (UX9702) was first introduced as a concept-like device earlier this year. Then, the company formally made it a consumer-ready device a few months back.

To those who missed it, the device is a futuristic-looking tablet/laptop hybrid foldable featuring a 17.3-inch panel with a 2.5K 2560 x 1920 resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio. It transforms into two 12.5-inch screens with 1920 x 1280 resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio when folded.

This is an advanced type of foldable display with 100 percent DCI-P3, Dolby Vision support, and Pantone validation as well as color and ambient light sensors to automatically adjust the display brightness and calibrate colors.

Basically, can use it like a regular small laptop (on-screen or with keyboard), PC, tablet, book, and extend modes. The PC mode is my personal favorite as it allows its users to enjoy its full 17.3-inch panel with a wireless keyboard on the go.

In laptop mode, you can use it with or without the attachable keyboard. With the keyboard, it'll look like a traditional laptop. In PC mode, it has an integrated dark green faux-leather kickstand to allow its users to use its full 17.3-inch screen.

In tablet mode, you simply don't use the kickstand. In book mode, you can fold it like a book if you don't need a larger screen. Extend mode will allow its users to utilize the full portrait display with the wireless keyboard.

According to the company, its hinge can last for at least 30,000 bends ensuring its durability.

For the rest of the specs, the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED runs with up to 12th Gen Intel Core i7 U Series processor, Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16GB RAM,1TB PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD, 75WHr battery, USB-C 65W PD charging, 5MP camera for video calling with ASUS 3DNR technology, HD infrared camera with Intel visual sensing controller and Windows Hello, 4x speakers with Smart Amp for 3.5x louder volume, Harman Kardon, and Dolby Atmos audio.

It also has the ultraslim 5.5mm ASUS ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard with 1.4mm long key travel and Bluetooth 5.1 tech. ASUS claims that this has an ISO 22196-tested Antibacterial Guard (Silver Ion) that protects users from 99 percent of bacteria for at least 3 years.
