HONOR Magic Vs foldable smartphone w/ Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 7.9-inch OLED screen now official

HONOR just announced its latest foldable smartphone with Magic Vs. It features an updated, sleeker design, a 7.9-inch OLED screen, and SD8+ Gen 1 SoC.

HONOR Magic Vs is touted to be the slimmest foldable phone yet!

The HONOR Magic Vs features a slimmer body at just 12.9mm thin when folded and weighs just 261 g. It is currently touted as the "lightest foldable smartphone" in the market according to HONOR. The phone has a symmetrical design with a seamless, gearless hinge made out of a single-piece casting process so that it has no haps. It aims to provide a "creaseless" screen when unfolded according to the company.

The outer screen is a 6.45-inch OLED screen with 2560 x 1080 FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 1920Hz high-frequency PWM eye protection, HDR10+ support, 1.07 billion colors, 100 percent DCI-P3 wide color gamut, and up to 1200 nits peak brightness.

Unfolded, it has a 7.9-inch OLED screen with 2272 x 1984 resolution, a 10.3:9 aspect ratio, a 90Hz refresh rate. a 1920Hz high-frequency PWM eye-protection, HDR10+, 1.07 billion colors, 100 percent DCI-P3 wide color gamut, and up to 800 nits peak brightness.

Inside, it has the 3.2GHz Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 octa-core processor, next-gen Adreno GPU, up to 16GB RAM, up to 512GB storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 66W fast charging. For cameras, it features a triple-camera setup with a 50MP f/1.8 Sony IMX800 sensor + 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide-angle sensor + 8MP f/2.4 3x Optical Zoom Camera with LED flash. It also has a 16MP f/2.45 front camera.

It also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, infrared sensor, WiFi 6, 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band GPS, NFC, USB-C audio, stereo speakers with IMAX Enhanced, DTS:X Ultra Algorithm, and a 3-MIC Stereo Voice Reception.

It runs Android 12 with Magic UI 7.0 on top.

The HONOR Magic Vs is available in Orange, Cyan, and Black while the Magic Vs Ultimate is available in Black and Gold. It is going on sale in China on November 30th. No word about the local price and availability yet. We will update you as soon as we get more information.
