HiSilicon chips to arrive this year?

Based on the claims, the Chinese tech giant has done preparations for the first mass production of 12nm and 14nm chipsets.

These 12 nm and 14nm chipsets may be the exclusive product of Chinese tech firms, based on the fact that the tipster in most cases offers information related to HUAWEI.

In case you don't know yet nm refers to nanometer, a unit of measurement for length. The size of the transistors that make up a CPU is measured in nanometers (nm).

Also, in theory, the smaller the nanometer is, would mean that it is more efficient in terms of power draw while providing a similar or significant boost in performance versus the predecessor.

While 12nm or 14nm is not as advanced as what Qualcomm and MediaTek have right now. Apparently, the reports also suggest that HUAWEI intends to use them for wearable devices.

It's interesting that the informant revealed that some of these processors are already being used internally.

It also makes sense too since HUAWEI has a huge list of wearable products and they will benefit a lot from these new processors.

Meanwhile, they added that higher-end chips will take a while and won't come this year.

For now, the Chinese conglomerate's Kirin chip is drained and they are only relying on Qualcomm to power their new smartphones. The last we've seen so far was Kirin 9000 Series which was 2+ years ago already.

If you recall, US sanctions partially paralyzed HUAWEI, and can't make new chips through TSMC or similar makers.

In the meantime, the brand reshaped its supply chain and tried new steps such as bringing in new partners to resolve its current drought for chipsets.

What do you guys think?
