ICYMI: DxOMark releases Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra camera scores, lands 11th place

Independent international image quality benchmark authority DxOMark labs recently unveiled the performance rating of the new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra!

To recap, the Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with a 200MP f/1.7 primary camera, a 12MP f/2.2 120-degree ultra-wide angle camera, and a 10MP f/2.4 10x optical zoom telephoto camera with an LED flash while in front is a 12MP f/2.2 front-facing camera.

DxOMark grades the Galaxy S23 Ultra's cameras with an overall score of 140. It is currently in 11th place in the authority's global ranking where the current best score is the HONOR Magic5 Pro with 152.

The laboratory praised the S23 Ultra's consistent camera performance across all features which makes it a great all-rounder. It renders a high level of detail while offering good autofocus in both photo and video in most lighting conditions. They also praised the strong tele-zoom performance even at long range. 

Lastly, DxOMark noted its "Very Good" video experience overall and its "good" color fidelity in most lighting conditions.

Where the phone's cameras struggled is retaining detail in low light and the shutter lag when shooting in low light. The detail and brightness indoors are lacking too.

And in the review of the sub-scores, it is clear that the Preview of the viewfinder is where most of the points were lost.

In the Philippines, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is now available for purchase and has a starting price of PHP 81,990 for the 12GB/256GB model.
