An affordable HUAWEI foldable phone is in the works?

A tipster on Weibo named Sina Digital has shared that some media broke the news in China and that the nova series may bring a foldable smartphone.

It is believed to feature a Snapdragon 778G 4G and with a price between CNY 4,000 to 5,000 or around PHP 31K to 39K if converted directly excluding the tax and duties.

Sina Digital also mentioned that the alleged nova fold may appear as a vertically foldable device similar to the HUAWEI Pocket S and P50 Pocket.

It is still unknown how the brand will bring down the cost of the alleged foldable phone in relation to the leaked price. These kinds of handsets have high production costs and have an intricate process of manufacturing them.

But since HUAWEI was one of the pioneers that introduced the folding technology on smartphones, there could likely be a chance of success here. For example, they have introduced the first variable aperture, Kunlun Glass protection, and satellite sms on a midrange device through the Nova 11 Ultra which is often found on higher-end models.

Right now the cheapest fold from HUAWEI is the Pocket S and the P50 Pocket which are priced around or over PHP 50K and PHP 69K, respectively.

Again these are just leaks only so please take them with a grain of salt.

What do you guys think? Can HUAWEI really do it?
