Following the launch of the Galaxy S24 Series, Samsung also revealed a rugged tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 launched!

If you take a look at the images, the tablet boasts rugged armor (MIL-STD-810H rating) to protect the device from drops. Samsung claims it can serve up to 12 meters while it also has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

At the front, it has an 8-inch FHD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Protecting the panel will be a Gorilla Glass 5 rating for anti-scratch.

Inside, it is powered by the 2.4GHz 5nm Exynos 1380 8-core CPU with Mali-G68 MP5 GPU, 6GB/8GB RAM, and 128GB/256GB expandable storage.

For battery, it has a 5,050mAh capacity with removable capability. It can be charged using a 15W power brick. Meanwhile, Samsung is also selling a separate charging dock for the tablet using pogo pins as well.

For the camera, it has a 13MP shooter in the rear and a 5MP selfie camera at the front.

Other features noted are the side-fingerprint reader and an Active Key for activating frequent apps or features.

Connectivity-wise, it has WiFi 6, 5G/LTE option, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and dual SIM (nan + eSIM).

For software, the tablet runs Android 14 with One UI 6.1 skin on top. Samsung also promises up to Android 18 updates which translates to 4 major OS upgrades.

US price with direct-to-PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

It will be available first in the US by the end of March 2024. It is still unknown when it will be available for other markets.
