HONOR X8b launched in PH: Flicker-free display, 512GB storage, Magic Capsule, priced at PHP 12,999

After weeks of teasing, HONOR officially launches the X8b in the Philippines.

The new device features a combination of iPhone and HUAWEI nova in terms of design. The front panel took a page from Apple's pill shape notch at the center while at the back you get to see vegan faux leather with dotted diamond patterns and you can also notice a squarish camera island.

The back design

The main highlight will be its display with flicker-free technology. HONOR says it has 3240Hz PWM dimming tech that reduces eye strain particularly when using it for longer periods. It uses a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the screen has up to 2,000 nits of max brightness allowing users to view contents even under the sun.

The display

Inside, it is powered by the 2.4GHz 6nm Snapdragon 680 octa-core processor with Adreno 610 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 512GB storage.

For battery, it has a 4,500mAh capacity with 35W fast charging capability.

For cameras, the phone uses a 108MP main sensor with f/1.75 aperture + 5MP ultra-wide and depth snapper + 2MP macro camera + LED flash. For selfies, it has a 50MP f/2.1 camera

Other features are a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a single-firing loudspeaker.

Connectivity-wise it has 4G VoLTE, WiFi (2.4GHz/5GHz), GPS,  and dual SIM support.

For OS, the phone runs Android 13 with MagicOS 7.2 skin on top.
