Apart from their photography prowess, the new OPPO Reno11 (PHP 24,999) and Reno11 Pro (PHP 31,999) are two of the phones in their respective price points with the promise of lasting for a very long time.

The OPPO Reno11 Series 5G is built to last - Here are the reasons why:

1. Use of pretty good materials - Both Reno11 5G and Reno11 Pro 5G are equipped with materials that don't feel cheap and will break easily. The two use an AGC Dragontrail Star 2 glass front and a Gorilla Glass 5 back.

The frame is metallic (probably plastic), which makes the device feel tough enough but light at just 182 grams.

Moreover, it has a rubber gasket in the SIM tray slot. It is an indicator that it is somehow sealed against water splashes and dust even if it has no official IP rating.

OPPO told us that in their internal testing, the phones can survive accidental drops (1 meter to 1.5 meters) better than most as well.

OPPO is also known to have one of the most rigorous reliability tests in the industry.

Its QE Reliability Lab simulates real-life stress tests like Tumble tests that drop the phone from 1 to 1.5 meters, pocket tests, and many more.

By the way... The Reno11 5G and Reno11 Pro 5G both have 1 year of local warranty and service. Note that this service only applies to locally purchased units in official authorized channels. Read the terms here.

2. 48-Month Fluency Protection - Both phones have OPPO's 48-Month Fluency Protection. This means that the company guarantees that the phone will have almost the same performance as when it was new even after four years.

So, you can still operate your phone and run apps like when it is new after years of work and play.

3. Battery Health Engine - It is normal for most smartphone batteries to degrade after a year of use. But with OPPO, it will be slower.

According to its laboratory tests, the device has a battery retention of more than 8 percent after 4 years of use. Moreover, its SUPERVOOC fast charging tech is designed to fast charge the device without damaging its batteries.

4. Software support - The Reno11 Series will come with 3 years of major OS updates and 4 years of security updates.

The phones are currently running with Android 14 by default and we can expect them to get a major OS update up to Android 17. Basically, its users may still get the latest features of Android and ColorOS even after years of use.

Then, it'll have an extra year of security updates to keep your phone safe from vulnerabilities to new attacks or flaws against ransomware or hacks.

That's it. These are the reasons why the new OPPO Reno11 Series 5G is more than just the cameras and looks. The phones are built to last.
