After using the OPPO Reno11 F 5G as our daily driver for three weeks, we share our thoughts and experiences with the mid-ranger.
OPPO Reno11 F 5G

To recap, the OPPO Reno11 F 5G comes with a curved 120Hz OLED screen, a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 octa-core processor, Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 3.1, 5,000mAh battery with 67W SUPERVOOC fast charging, and ColorOS 14.

At the back of the phone is the 64MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera with dual LED flash while in front is the 32MP selfie camera.

In the Philippines, it is priced at PHP 18,999.

Let's dive into the review!

Multimedia Experience

OPPO Reno11 F 5G's front screen
OPPO Reno11 F 5G's front screen

In front is the 6.7-inch 3D flexible OLED screen with a 2,412 x 1,080 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, and a 2,160Hz PWM dimming support. Around the panel are the top and side bezels are super slim while the bottom bezel is slightly thicker than the rest.

Vibrant and bright enough screen

At 1,100 peak brightness, the screen is plenty bright and is readable outdoors under direct sunlight. The images produced have vibrant color, and deep contrast, and are sharp and detailed.

It supports 10-points of multi-touch which makes it good for multitasking or games that support multiple simultaneous touch inputs. It responds quickly and accurately to our taps and gestures.

The panel is more than bright enough for its price category. It's not the brightest but the screen is somewhat readable under direct sunlight. Images on the screen are vibrant and contrasty while the text and details are readable.

On the top bezel is the hidden super slim earpiece that also serves as the second speaker.

For audio, the phone is equipped with dual stereo speakers and multiple microphones. The phone supports up to 300 percent volume boost. However, we only recommend using that feature when in a pinch or a very open environment. We recommend leaving the speakers at 90 percent for the best audio quality.

The microphones do a good job of picking up sounds from a meter away while the noise-cancellation for calls is good too.

Cameras

Rear camera module
Rear camera module

As mentioned earlier, the phone is equipped with a 64MP f/1.7 main camera 1/2-inch OV64B sensor, an 8MP f/2.2 112-degree ultra-wide camera with Sony IMX355 sensor, and a 2MP f/2.4 macro camera with an OV02B10 sensor and LED flash.

The stock camera app's modes include Photo, Video, Portrait, Pro, Night, Hi-Res, Pano, Macro, Slo-Mo, Time-lapse, Dual-View Video, Sticker and Text scanner.

The Pro mode allows for controls of ISO (100-6400), Shutter Speed (30-1/8,000 sec), EV (+-3), Focus, and White Balance.

All daylight images from the rear camera module produce surprisingly similar results in terms of color and contrast. They are vibrant and deep. All three images are decently sharp but we've seen sharper images in the same price range.

The rear camera's Portrait mode was able to detect the edges of the subject well. It almost didn't miss any individual hair fibres on the subject's head.

When shooting subjects' close-ups, the macro camera produced images with good color accuracy. But do not expect high resolution as it is just 2MP. For a 2MP image, it is decently sharp but We recommend using the main camera instead.

The above images were taken in a well-lit coffee shop. The resulting images from the main camera and telephoto camera (1x, 2x, 5x) were okay. They are contrasty with vibrant yet true-to-life colors. Like the daylight images, we have seen sharper results in the price category.

For low light, the amount of noise is more apparent in the images but the noise reduction does its job without reducing the sharpness. The same is true for color, we only see a minor discoloration.

The Night mode improves the sharpness, detail, and contrast while reducing some noise and grain, especially in bright areas for 1x, 2x and ultra-wide

Overall, the rear camera produced good images that just need tweaking to pull out the sharpest possible images.

Daylight selfies from the OPPO Reno11 F 5G are very good. You immediately notice the sharpness and detail. What makes it stand out is the accurate color reproduction of skin tones.

The portrait mode's edge detection worked the majority of the time but did struggle with some fine fibers.

Indoors, the image is similar to daylight but like the rear cameras it isn't the sharpest we've seen in the price range.

OPPO Reno11 F 5G selfie night mode

In low light, the selfie camera's images have lost a small amount of sharpness, detail and in color accuracy in shadow areas because of the noise. However, it did retain contrast and color accuracy of areas with light.

The night mode significantly improved the amount of noise, sharpness and detail. We recommend shooting with the night mode as long as the subject is not moving.

Overall, the front cameras produce images with very good color, contrast, sharpness, and detail but struggle with the night mode.

The rear camera can record up to 4K at 30fps. The footage is acceptable in sharpness but even in daylight, noise is apparent. The limitation of only having EIS is seen due to its shaky footage.

If you want more stabilized footage, use the Ultra Steady mode. Just note that it has a pretty large crop and is limited to 1080 at 60fps.

What's new here is OPPO listened to our suggestions and finally added the 4K 30fps selfie video mode. Similar to the primary camera, it is sharp and rich in colors. However, noise is apparent the footage is shaky.

Performance

OPPO Reno11 F 5G's AnTuTu and GeekBench scores

To recap, the OPPO Reno11 F 5G features the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7050 octa-core processor, ARM Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, 8GB LPDDR4X, and 256GB UFS 3.1.
OPPO Reno11 F 5G's 3DMark and CPDT scores

OPPO Reno11 F 5G benchmarks:

  1. AnTuTu - 605,934
  2. Geekbench 6 - 837 (single-core), 2,256 (multi-core)
  3. 3D Mark WildLife - 2,321 at 13.9 average fps
  4. CPDT - 731.65 MB/s sequential read speeds and 639.41 MB/s sequential write speeds

The OPPO Reno11 F 5G scores in AnTuTu, Geekbench, and 3DMark are in the range of what we expected from this combination of chipset and software. In fact, they are close the Reno11 5G.

We noticed that even though we got 605K in AnTuTu this was with the 3D benchmark lite.

According to CPDT, when compared to the Reno11 5G with UFS 2.2, the Reno11 F 5G's UFS 3.1 is noticeably faster.
Genshin Impact graphics settings
Genshin Impact graphics settings

While this phone is mostly designed for social media users and content creators who love taking photos, we would have liked it better if it was a little better when running demanding games. (Some of those creators still play games in their free time)

On Genshin Impact, it is set on the low graphics settings as the default. Playing the game is mostly smooth when wandering around the world but when in combat with a lot of animations, there were instances of lag and stuttering.

In our experience, the phone can handle the majority of tasks like navigating through the OS, opening apps, web surfing, and social media without struggling.

Fast In-Display fingerprint sensor

For security, the phone has an optical In-Display fingerprint sensor and face unlock. The initial setup and subsequent uses are quick and it detects our biometrics instantaneously. It works even if your finger is a little sweaty.

The face unlocks only struggles when the camera is dirty or when we are wearing a mask and sunglasses. The screen brightens up when used in the dark. It even has a super bright mode when using face unlock that can be set in the settings.

Regarding connectivity, we have the following: WiFi 6, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.2 LE, OTG, GPS (L1 only), 360-degree antenna, and dual nano SIM.

Connection is usually stable for WiFi and we get 4 to 5 bars of mobile data signal majority of the time. Its antenna design probably has something to do with this.
OPPO Reno11 F 5G's Battery usage
OPPO Reno11 F 5G's Battery usage

Inside the phone is a large 5,000mAh battery which consistently yielded 4 to 5 hours of on-screen time while being our main device that is constantly connected to 5G, LTE, and WiFi. We even use it as our WiFi Hotspot almost every day.

All-day battery despite its slim design!

The battery charges via USB-C with the 67W wall charger which charges the phone 100 percent in under 60 minutes.
OPPO ColorOS 14's home screen
OPPO ColorOS 14's home screen

It is running on OPPO's ColorOS 14 based on Android 14. It introduces the features included with Android 14 while adding OPPO's own design language and own take on software features. It has become one of the best-looking skin and best-performing skin out there.

However, If you didn't like the older ColorOS, odds are you still won't like this one. But if you're a fan of it, you will more likely enjoy the experience.

Several pre-installed apps and services can be uninstalled or disabled. It adds to the initial setup.

Some of these apps have annoying push notifications. We recommend disabling or uninstalling these.

What OPPO is proud of is the new Magnetic Particle Design seen on the back of the phone. It is the reason for the water ripple-like pattern that is visually eye-catching and is also scratch and wear-resistant. In short, it should be tougher. Only time will tell. So far, we have yet to see scratches after three weeks.

Lastly, OPPO said that it has 48-month Fluency Protection. This is a guarantee that the phone will have almost the same performance as when it was new even after four years.

OPPO also said that it will get 3 years of major OS upgrades and 4 years of security upgrades.

Only time will tell if these claims are true. But at least, there are official promises.

Pros - Premium build materials, eye-catching and durable Magnetic Particle design, fast 67W charging, decent rear and front cameras for photos, now come with 4k 30fps selfie videos, loud stereo speakers, 48 months fluency rating
Cons - Graphics power for gaming is lacking, shaky video with only EIS

Verdict

OPPO Reno11 F 5G's Dynamic Particle Design
OPPO Reno11 F 5G's Dynamic Particle Design

OPPO has produced one of its better entry mid-rangers for PHP 19K yet.

It has one of the most premium looks in its class. The vibrant display is surprisingly bright and readable under direct sunlight, and the overall speed is more than enough for most casual users.

The 5,000mAh battery paired with fast 67W SUPERVOOC charging allows it to last up to 5 hours of on-screen time after being connected to 5G and WiFi all day while also serving as our hotspot.

Its rear and selfie cameras produce decent rear images, but as mentioned above, the images are sharp but there are sharper images in the price category.

We do have to call out the graphics performance for gaming and the like which was underwhelming. We do have to point out that the UFS 3.1 is faster than the UFS 2.2 of the vanilla Reno11 5G which costs more.

We recommend it if you want a clean-looking smartphone with a great display, eye-catching design, decent cameras, and a fast-charging battery.

If you are its target audience or market, go for it. If you are a mobile gamer, look elsewhere.

What do you think guys?
