Globe officially rolls out Prepaid eSIM for just PHP 99

Local telco giant Globe today officially announced that its local Prepaid eSIM service is now available nationwide for just PHP 99.

To recall, Globe first announced this service in September 2023 but its rollout was delayed.

According to the company, this service focuses on convenience, eco-friendliness, and streamlined digital experiences as well as a "first-of-its-kind" eSIM compatibility check to ensure customers’ devices are ready for the technology.

Globe's Prepaid eSIM is available on both iOS and Android which can be accessed through the GlobeOne app.

At the GlobeOne app, users can download the eSIM and install it on compatible phones right after purchase.

Basically, if you have an eSIM there is no need to install a physical SIM anymore. This also promotes an eco-conscious lifestyle by reducing reliance on physical SIMs, and completely eliminating the use of plastic and carded distribution of eSIMs.

How to activate Globe Prepaid eSIM?

iOS users - Scan the QR code provided in their email using their phone's camera or add the eSIM under "Cellular Plans" in their phone’s settings.

Android users - Scan the QR code through the "SIM Card Manager" in their phone’s settings. 

Note: All subscribers are required to register their eSIM via the GlobeOne app.

Another advantage of eSIMs is it allows subscribers to also have multiple profiles using different mobile numbers on a single device. This enables the user to "effortlessly" switch lines for various purposes such as after-office activities, travel, and more.

The service is exclusive to new Globe Prepaid mobile numbers. 

According to the company, they have plans to enable the conversion of existing prepaid physical SIMs to eSIMs in the future.
