Globe makes prepaid eSIM official—will be available by the end of September!
In line with its schedule, local telco giant Globe today officially announced that its fully digital prepaid eSIM service will be available by the end of September.

Globe prepaid eSIM!
Previously only available for its postpaid subscribers, Globe's prepaid subscribers will soon have a way to enjoy eSIMs.
Globe explains that this service gets rid of the hassles of obtaining and handling physical SIM cards where activating and managing mobile services is as simple as a few taps on a screen.
The eSIM will be available for request and purchase via the GlobeOne app.
Basically, its users need to:
- Download the FREE GlobeOne app
- Set up a GlobeOne account
- Request for a new eSIM
With this digital-only service, Globe customers do not need to visit its stores or get physical SIM deliveries.

Other advantages of eSIMs include:
- It allows users to install multiple eSIMs on selected devices and use two phone numbers at the same time.
- eSIMs can also be used in devices other than mobile phones such as smartwatches for a seamless connection under one mobile number. (This tech is currently available to Apple Watch cellular)
- eSIMs have a positive environmental impact by eliminating the need for plastic and logistics needed to create a physical SIM as well as cutting down its associated carbon emissions.
Just note that eSIMs do not work on all types of smartphones, make sure that your device is eSIM-ready first.
