HUAWEI launches MateBook X Pro 2024: Up to Intel Core Ultra 9 chip, 32GB RAM, AI support

Tech giant HUAWEI yesterday launched the MateBook X Pro 2024, the company's latest top-of-the-line ultrabook.

The new HUAWEI MateBook X Pro 2024 features a super-slim body weighing just 980 grams making it even lighter than MacBook Air 13 (1.25kg). It is made with a premium-grade magnesium alloy material with micro-velvet materials available in Inkstone Black, White, and Clear Blue Snow colorways.

For the display, the laptop features a 14.2-inch 10-point touchscreen OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3120 x 2080 resolution, and a 3:2 aspect ratio. This display has a 1.07 billion color display capability, Adobe RGB/P3/sRGB color gamut, and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.

Under the hood, it is powered by either an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H or an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor with Intel Arc graphics. These chips are paired with either 16GB or 32GB RAM with 1TB or 2TB internal storage.

The flagship Intel Core Ultra 9 185H variant has up to 40W TDP performance.

The device also has a fairly large 70WHr battery with 140W of fast charging via USB-C. HUAWEI claims that 3 hours of charge can allow its user to do up to 3 hours of work.

Other features of the device include a 1080p webcam with a camera privacy switch, 6x speakers with a smart sound screen solution for improved audio, a keyboard, trackpad, Super Transfer Hub, dual-band WiFi with 2x2 MIMO, 3D metamaterial antenna, and Bluetooth 5.3, connectivity.

The other key highlight of the device is it now supports the Pangu AI model with AI Minutes to record thoughts and creations in minutes, AI subtitles that translate context in real time, and AI Eyes.

The laptops are now available for pre-order in China and will be on sale officially starting April 18.

There is no info if HUAWEI will release it internationally yet.
