External-wise, the new Z-Flip now has a brushed metal finish for its frame while having a sleeker and square-ish shape. The frame is made of a stronger variant of Armor Aluminum. Samsung says that the new Flip still has no gap when folded but it does have a black colored protective layer that prevents the phone from damaging itself when folding the phone.

The cover screen or FlexWindow is a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 720 x 748 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. It is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

The inner screen is a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex display with a 2,640 x 1,080 resolution, a 1-120Hz Adaptive Refresh rate, and a 22:9 aspect ratio.

On the punch hole of the inner screen is the 10MP f/2.2 selfie camera. The top left corner of the cover screen or FlexWindow are the 50MP f/1.8 main camera with dual-pixel AF and the 12MP f/2.2 123-degree FOV ultra-wide-angle camera with an LED flash.

Inside the phone is the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy octa-core processor, 12GB RAM, 256GB/512GB internal storage and a 4,000mAh battery with 25W Adaptive Fast wired charging via USB-C. It supports Wireless PowerShare.

Other features include an IP48 water and dust resistance rating, 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, One nano SIM slot, and multi-eSIM support.

Running the show is Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 with Galaxy AI. It is protected by Samsung Knox. It will receive 7 generations of OS upgrades and 7 years of security updates. Google Gemini app is said to be fully integrated with the Z series. Included AI features include Generative AI, Circle to Search, Interpreter and Live Translate.

Samsung claims that the Z Flip6 is made with recycled gold and copper while the packaging is made from 100 percent recycled paper.

The Flip6 measures 71.9 x 165.1 x 6.9mm when unfolded and it weighs 187 grams. It will come in either Silver Shadow, Yellow, Blue, or Mint. Samsung PH website will offer exclusive Crafted Black, White, and Peach color options.

Like the Galaxy Z Fold6, the Z Flip will be available for pre-order today, July 10. It is expected to be available in stores this July 31, 2024.
